NTSG has developed several monitoring systems  for motorway safety.

“OF WIM

The “OF WIM” system measures   the direction of  the passing by of vehicle’s in no-time , its speed, its weight and the number of axles it has.

POTENTIAL OF THE “OF WIM” SYSTEM

  • System for monitoring the direction of vehicle travel;
  • System for monitoring the speed and weight of passing vehicles;
  • System for identifying the type of vehicle.

The high degree of flexibility and scalability of the “OF WIM” system allows it to be integrated with other monitoring solutions derived from the “OF” system such as “OF Bridge” and “OF Ghost Driver”.

SYSTEM POSITIONING

  • Inside the road surface;
  • In transit and at toll booths.


PROPERTIES

  • Real-time measurement of vehicle weight;
  • Measurement of vehicle speed;
  • Determination of vehicle type;
  • Traffic control;
  • Real-time connection with the operator’s control room.

NTSG has developed a mathematical model for the interpretation of the measurements made by the “OF WIM” system and the calculation of engineering quantities derived from them. The model is implemented in the proprietary software “Edgegateway”. The software acquires the above-mentioned measurements in real time, uses them to derive other engineering quantities described in the Properties section and manages warnings and alarms in the presence of anomalies with respect to the expected quantities.

“OF GHOST DRIVER

The “OF GHOST DRIVER” system measures the direction of the  of a passing vehicle, its speed, and activates warning/communication systems with users.

SYSTEM POSITIONING

  • Inside the road surface;
  • Near motorway access ramps;
  • At the exit of parking areas;
  • Near bridges and viaducts.

 

PROPERTIES

  • no-time monitoring of the direction of travel of vehicles entering the motorway;
  • Management and activation of sound and light alarms;
  • Real-time connection with the operator’s control room;
  • Information on the number of vehicles passing through.

“OF LITGHING

The “OF Lighting” system measures  the deformation of the structure of the luminaires and its power absorption, in no-time

– On the structure of the luminaires;
– On the electrical cables of the luminaires as poles/towers.

PROPERTIES

  • No-time measurement of power consumption and structural deflection;
  • Measurement of pole/beacon movements and prevention of possible failure;
  • Monitoring of the correct operation/use of the luminaires over time.
