The “OF WIM” system will be installed on 3 lanes of the A1 motorway near the Firenze Nord exit, this system is in the executive design phase, it is a dynamic weighing system of the vehicles that, in addition to weighing the vehicles in transit, also monitors other parameters such as:
This system allows the identification of vehicles with a weight different from the one declared. Their identification is notified to the police thanks to the use of video cameras for the shooting of the context and for the recognition of the license plate number.
The measurements are made with a frequency of 1000 information per second from each sensor at the same time, the system is operational 24 hours a day for 365 days.
The measurement technique applied is the semi-distributed one with deformation and temperature sensors connected to a single optical interrogator on which the Edgegateway software is installed for the real-time analysis of the monitored quantities. The same sends the collected data to the platform to make them available to the operator in charge of monitoring the work.
